New trade deal expected to boost Indonesia’s exports to Middle East

The trade deal was signed by Indonesian Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan and Minister of Economy of the UAE Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri on July 1, on the sidelines of President Joko Widodo's working visit to Abu Dhabi. The Indonesian President positively welcomes the completion of the IUAE-CEPA, said Trade Minister Hasan in a statement. Following a first-quarter rise, the BCI dropped 4.4 points in the second quarter to 68.8 points. In contrast with earlier in the year, compounding factors such as the continuing conflict in Ukraine, commodity price spikes, and the ripple effect of China's zero-COVID policy have dampened expectations among Viet Nam's European business community. Refresher course on military history held
The opening ceremony was attended by Head of the Vietnam Institute of Military History Major General Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Deputy Political Chief of the Air Defense – Air Force Service Major General Tran Trong Tuyen, and representatives from the Air Defense – Air Force Service’s agencies and units in Nha Trang city. During the four-day event, 118 participating officers, who are in charge of managing and researching military history, will be equipped with general knowledge about military history and historical and logical methods in studying military history. Participants will also learn experience in compiling projects on military history; collecting, exploiting, and using history documents; organizing seminars on military history. Euro slumps to two-decade low, oil tumbles as recession fears intensify
Euro zone recession fears were exacerbated by concerns about an energy crisis in Europe and by Tuesday's data, which showed a sharp slowdown in business growth in June, following Monday's news of a seasonally adjusted May trade deficit in Germany versus expectations for a surplus. Oil prices suffered their biggest daily drop since March on growing fears of a global recession and lockdowns in China that could slash demand. Bipan Rai, North America head of FX strategy at CIBC Capital Markets in Toronto, cited signs of a looming energy crisis in Europe and economic concerns for the euro's tumble. "The threat of a recession in the euro zone is a more clear risk now relative to before," Rai said.
