Vietnam needs to encourage the private sector to invest into improving the country's infrastructure, said international investors and experts at the Vietnam Business Forum Nov. 29. The event is being hosted by the World Bank (WB) just a few days ahead of the WB-chaired Consultative Group meeting, where foreign donors are set to pledge assistance for Vietnam. Vietnam's infrastructure, including road systems and ports, are still of very poor quality which pushes up investment costs and affects the competitiveness of its businesses, said Tony Foster, an expert from the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) in Vietnam.
