Hanoi (VNA) – The US’s experience in environmental management and air quality control in Vietnam were touched upon at a seminar in Hanoi on January 25. The event, themed “Solving the air quality crisis: from the US to Vietnam,” was jointly held by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the environmental protection agency under the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Live & Learn Centre. Dr. Le Bich Thuy from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology pointed out the harmful impact of air pollution on human health and life, and called for joint efforts to find suitable measures to tackle the problem. Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade is actively implementing a lot of supporting industry development programmes, given the great importance of supporting industries. Three airlines found selling more tickets than seating capacity
Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways have been found selling more tickets than their seating capacity. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has requested the three airlines not to sell tickets that exceeded the number of confirmed slots. The order was made following the CAAV’s check and monitor the ticket sale activities of local airlines. In case, the airlines continue to ignore the request, the CAAV will not issue a licence for aviation transport. Between January 27 and February 26, local carriers will focus on domestic air routes with over 1,000 fights per day, up 28% on-year. The number would be 1,200 flights on peak days. Besides the daytime, airlines will also increase their flights at night from 10 pm to 7 am the next day with 140-150 flights per day. Passengers are advised to do self-check-in via web, mobile or check-in kiosks at the domestic terminal, besides checking in at counters.
