The national carrier is allowed to operate flights between Viet Nam’s Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi and the U.S. cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco (California); New York (New York), Seattle (Washington) and Dallas - Fort Worth (Texas). The transit flights will include stops in Taipei (Taiwan – China), Osaka and Nagoya (Japan). Viet Nam Airlines is also allowed to operate flights to the Canadian cities of Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto via points in the U.S. In addition, Viet Nam Airlines is also licensed to operate routes from destinations outside Viet Nam, via Viet Nam or other transit points to 25 destinations in the U.S. under codeshare arrangements. Accordingly, the airline will cancel all flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Shanghai, namely VN522, VN523, VN530 and VN531 on October 1, and re-operate them on October 2 instead. The national flag carrier announced that Flights VN422 and VN426 from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to the RoK’s Busan city, along with Flights VN423 and VN427 from Busan to HCM City, will take off on October 3 morning, instead of October 2 evening as initially planned. Flights VN408, VN416, VN440, VN430 and VN441 from HCM City, Da Nang city and Cam Ranh city to Incheon city of the RoK will also be delayed for several hours. Accordingly, the carrier will run seven Ho Chi Minh City – Bali flights per week. However, there will be only five flights per week from October 27 to late March 2020 due to limited services in Denpasar airport, Bali. Flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 11:10am and Bali at 4:50pm every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. It will be the second route to Indonesia following the Ho Chi Minh City – Jakarta route that the carrier launched in December 2012 with seven flights per week.
