Derivatives continue to distort stock market despite SSC’s intervention
Before the morning trading session, investors received positive information from the meeting of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) last week. Specifically, at a meeting with 23 securities companies and market members, the SSC asked the stock exchanges to disclose information about the proprietary trading of securities companies. Besides, the SSC also directed the Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) to adjust the final settlement price of the VN30 index futures contract to be the average price of the last 30 minutes of the expiration date instead of the closing price of the ATC session to avoid the impact on the underlying market. At the same time, the SSC also directed to put forward measures to soon raise Vietnam's stock market from frontier to emerging market as soon as possible. The content of the meeting partly created optimism for investors when the number of selling orders at low prices dropped sharply while the demand was no longer hesitant to be pushed to … [Read more...] about Derivatives continue to distort stock market despite SSC’s intervention

Narrowing the gap for PPPs in health
Le Minh Sang, health specialist at World Bank Vietnam Healthcare public-private partnerships (PPPs) can be classified into five types (see Figure 1) depending on the roles and responsibilities that the private sector takes. Each type has certain advantages and disadvantages. A managed equipment service PPP enables major equipment suppliers to own and manage all equipment required for health facility operations. Under an operation and management services PPP, a private partner is contracted to operate and manage a hospital, health facility, or health network in exchange for a management fee. Specialised services PPPs involve a government contract with a private partner to deliver specific services (dialysis, radiotherapy, laboratory testing) at public healthcare facilities. Supporting Vietnam’s strive for sustainability
Mark Ratcliff, sustainability specialist at Except Integrated Sustainability Whether we acknowledge it or not, sustainability is and always has been our most important goal. Collectively, we have gotten away with pushing it aside for too long. We can no longer ignore it, but realizing sustainability beyond a marketing slogan is easier said than done. Many countries are falling behind, and without a systemic shift to a more long-term mindset, Vietnam will also flounder and fail to achieve its bold National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030. Nevertheless, things are not as gloomy as they seem. Except Integrated Sustainability, a Dutch consultancy and design firm, has initiated ViCo, Vietnam’s first sustainability community for innovation. It aims to bolster worldwide partnerships, enhance learning, and help with new joint business models to support the shift to sustainability and attract more funding.
