Saigon resident recreates historic events in miniature 3D figurines
By Quynh Tran  October 8, 2018 | 04:36 pm GMT+7 In a cramped 15 sq.m room, Le Xuan Giang is at home, intricately sculpting war and other historic events. “I was inspired to find out more about military models after seeing bookstores selling about 10 years or so ago,” said Giang, 32. “After I looked deeper into it, I felt I could do better, create things in more detail.” A platoon crosses a bridge. Giang makes two to three of such scenes a year. His works mostly deal with wars in Vietnam and elsewhere. It took him about six months to create this model of American soldiers on the Sherman tank (M4A3E8) headed to Berlin in 1945 during World War II. Giang does a lot of research to make his creations as authentic as possible. The work is meticulous. Since some of the designs are not available in the market, Giang uses clay to design them himself. Events celebrate birthday of Hồ Chí Minh
Viet Nam News HCM CITY — Dozens of cultural programmes in HCM City will be organised to celebrate the 128th birthday of former President Hồ Chí Minh (May 19). One of the highlights will be Vùng Đất Rồng Bay (Land of Dragon), a music and poetry show featuring veteran and young singers and poets from 24 districts in the city. Organised by the HCM City Youth Cultural House, the event on Saturday will feature songs, dances and poems in praise of the country, HCM City and Uncle Hồ. During the event, the city’s Youth Union will offer certificates and gifts to young people who have achieved results in study, work and charity activities. Numerous events mark 1,050th anniversary of Vietnam’s first feudal state
The highlight will be a ceremony to celebrate the Dai Co Viet establishment and launch Hoa Lu Festival, the largest and most spectacular festival of the province slated for April 24-27 under the theme “The 1050-year journey of Dai Co Viet State in the flow of history”.
