Thu Duc tasked with budget collection at VND8.3 trillion

HCMC – Thu Duc City has been assigned to collect over VND8.3 trillion for the State budget this year, while retaining 18% of the total budget revenue.
At the 24th session of the ninth-tenure HCMC People’s Council today, March 23, Thu Duc, a new city under HCMC, was also allowed to spend over VND3.1 trillion from the budget in 2021. Besides, HCMC will allocate VND1.99 trillion to Thu Duc.
In addition, Thu Duc will not have to distribute its budget revenue to HCMC, the local media reported.
Thu Duc City was established by merging districts 2, 9 and Thu Duc, with a total area of some 212 square kilometers and a population of over one million people.
The city is expected to contribute 30% of HCMC’s gross regional domestic product and 7% of the country’s gross domestic product.
This year, Thu Duc City will start work on 16 key projects, including building nine kindergartens and schools, installing drainage systems on Vo Van Ngan Street and National Highway 13 and along railways in Linh Dong Ward, widening La Xuan Oai Street, upgrading Le Van Chi Street and constructing the Ba Ca Bridge.
