HCM City: six more hotels designated as quarantine sites
HCM City (VNA) – HCM City has added six more hotels can be used to quarantine people and flight crews coming from abroad. They are Dong Do, Hoa De Nhat, Hung Huong and Park Royal in Tan Binh district, New Milano in District 7, and Eastin Grand Saigon in Phu Nhuan district. These hotels will be under the direction, management and administration of the city’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, the Health Department, and the city People's Committee. The quarantine sections must ensure appropriate medical facilities and disinfection equipment besides regular hotel-related tasks like food and drink, and laundry and room services to serve customers during the quarantine period. Man volunteers in litter collection on HCM City canal
Cuong said that following a call from the local authorities, he volunteered to collect litter. However, just a short time after that, the canal was polluted again due to people’s low awareness. He then told her nephew to help with the work. Initially, he did not have tools to collect litter, so after each time of the rubbish collection, he had to get rid of his clothes. He suffered from sores in his hands and legs. He however still continued the work despite being regarded as ‘crazy’ by many people. Luckily, his wife and children support what he does. Later, local authorities gave him a boat which helps make the work easier. Every morning, he and his nephew work on the canal. He drives the boat while the nephew uses some tools to collect rubbish. The litter is brought ashore and piled. When being dry, it is classified for suitable treatment. Vasco resumes flights connecting HCM City – Rach Gia
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), a member of the Vietnam Airlines Corporation, resumes its route between Ho Chi Minh City and Rach Gia on January 18 in a bid to serve rising travel demand for Lunar New Year holiday (Tet). ATR72 aircraft will be used to operate five flights on the route each week. One-leg ticket is set from 590,000 VND (25.49 USD), taxes and fees included. Flights are scheduled to take off from HCM City at 5: 25 am and at 6:55 am from Rach Gia City in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang. Strict COVID-19 prevention and control measures will be applied before, during and after flights to ensure health and safety for passengers and the community.
