Phạm Chí Tâm, deputy chairman of the HCM City Labour Federation, said at a conference held in the city last Friday (May 20) that it was necessary that the work on occupational safety and health in agencies, units, and business establishments becomes a “habit.” HCM City is among localities in the country with the highest number of work-related accidents. More lessons learnt from Xieng Khouang – Plain of Jars Victory in 1972
The victory proved the effective and timely collaboration between the Vietnamese and Lao forces and forces in the Southern theater in the strategic offensive in 1972, contributing to failing the “Vietnamization” strategy of the U.S. and the “Nixon doctrine.” It also reaffirmed that defensive is the obvious operation in the liberation war and added more theoretical and practical values to the art of combat at the operational level of Vietnam in the resistance war against the U.S. invaders. As the operation went, the Central Military Commission of Vietnam and the Lao side informed the Command of the Plain of Jars – Muong Sui Campaign about the intention: Right after the end of the offensive operation in the area, our forces would shift to the defensive posture at the operational level, ready to break down any counter-offensive operations of the enemy. The rise of the savvy Gen Z investor
Illustration by Trịnh Lập by An Phương The latest kids on the demographic block, Generation Z (1997 onwards), have had a lot happen in a short amount of time. This shapes their approach to life. One interesting impact of this approach can be seen in their investing habits. I recently had a chat with some of my younger friends on their financial plans and goals. The insights from the conversations were rewarding. Growing up, I was used to seeing my mother trading in gold and real estate but never in my early twenties did I consider doing the same. Not so with Gen Z. They are more sophisticated, financially, and start their investing journey very early. Anh Huy, 25, told me that he bought a small apartment and put it up for sale two months ago. “I was able to buy my first apartment with profits from trading in shares, salary from a 9-5 job and savings from my parents. I did borrow some money from the bank, but it wasn’t much. HCM City is a fast growing city and I have … [Read more...] about The rise of the savvy Gen Z investor
Australian PM Morrison concedes, ending nearly a decade of conservative rule
Partial results showed Morrison’s Liberal-National coalition had been punished by voters in Western Australia and affluent urban seats in particular. "Tonight, I have spoken to the Leader of the Opposition and the incoming Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese. And I’ve congratulated him on his election victory this evening," Morrison said, stepping down as leader of his party. Labor had yet to reach the 76 of the 151 lower house seats required to form a government alone. Final results could take time as counting of a record number of postal votes is completed. A strong showing by the Greens and a of group of so-called "teal independents," who campaigned on policies of integrity, equality and tackling climate change, means the makeup of the new parliament looks set to be much less climate-skeptic than the one that supported Morrison’s pro-coal mining administration. Center-left Labor had held a decent lead in opinion polls, although recent surveys showed the Liberal-National … [Read more...] about Australian PM Morrison concedes, ending nearly a decade of conservative rule
