Vietnam has won 188 gold medals so far at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, more than the total numbers of golds of second-placed Thailand, third-placed Indonesia, and fourth-placed Philippines combined. As of 3:00 pm on Sunday, the host nation had bagged 188 gold medals, 109 silvers, and 109 bronzes, according to the event's official website. Thailand ranked second with 77 golds, 92 silvers, and 125 bronzes. Indonesia and the Philippines were in third and fourth places with 62 and 47 gold medals, respectively. Vietnamese athletes claimed a total of 17 gold medals on Saturday, with the championship title in women’s football being the most notable. SEA Games athletes offered free rides on Hanoi double decker buses
The tickets will be valid until late this month. The bus tours which run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily take visitors through tourist attractions including St. Joseph's Cathedral, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hoa Lo Prison, the Temple of Literature and the Opera House. The buses will depart every hour from Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square near the Hoan Kiem pedestrian zone. Le Thi Bao Tran, a young white-collar worker in Ho Chi Minh City, has spent the past eight years moving between rented rooms, doing her best to save up enough money to purchase a home of her own.
