The Vietnamese swimmer finished first with a time of 4:18.10 to take a gold medal. His new record was more than two seconds better than the 4:20.65 he set at the previous Games in the Philippines. It is also the new national record of Việt Nam. Nguyên was left behind in the first 100m butterfly but he came back in the second lap of backstroke and pulled ahead in the last two laps. His 16-year-old teammate Nguyễn Quang Thuấn came second and Aflah Fadlan Prawira of Indonesia was third. "I have waited this day for a long time. Japanese pharma firm Eisai Vietnam Co., Ltd opened a new business office in HCM City on Thursday, May 12, 2022. — Photo courtesy of the company Japan-headquartered pharmaceutical company Eisai Vietnam has inaugurated a new business office in HCM City, reaffirming its decades long presence in the country. The new office is located at the Saigon Giai Phong Tower at 432-438 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in the city’s District 3. Yuki Inoue, general director of Eisai Vietnam, said the company aimed to improve the distribution system, introduce innovative drugs, and contribute to improving benefits for patients based on its human health care or “hhc” philosophy. At a Saturday conference in Harvard University on Vietnam's development strategy in the 21st century, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam's economy has expanded into the fourth largest economy in ASEAN and among the world's top 12 economies with the largest scale of commerce. The country also takes part in 15 active FTAs, he said. Economist David Dapic said Vietnam taking part in FTAs was a major success. Millions of farmers have moved on to work in factories as a result. But the fact that most materials for production are imported from China is a weakness, he added. When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, borders were closed and there was commercial tension, Vietnam's exports were affected, Dapic said. Vietnam's trade turnover with the U.S. may reach $100 billion this year. Such a figure might be small for the U.S., but Vietnam should take note to remain in constant communication and avoid being accused of currency manipulation, he advised.
