NA discusses amended draft laws on medical check-up, treatment, cinematography

(Photo: VNA) The implementation of the 14th NA’s Resolution 42/2017/QH14, dated June 21, 2017, on piloting the settlement of bad debts of credit institutions and the extension of the time limit for application of all provisions of this resolution were also tabled. In the afternoon, the National Assembly will listen to Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long’s report on the draft Law on Medical Examination and Treatment (amended), and a verification report on this draft law delivered by Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Social Affairs Nguyen Thuy Anh. The making of the draft law aims to address shortcomings and limitations of the 2009 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment and solve new arising problems to develop and improve the quality of health services. Government proposes delay to submission of draft amended Land Law to NA

At the NA working session (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has proposed a delay to a submission of the draft Law on Land (amended) to the National Assembly (NA) until the Party Central Committee issues directions on reforms of land-related policies and laws. The proposal was conveyed by Chairman of the NA Committee on Legal Affairs Hoang Thanh Tung during the 15th NA’s ongoing third session on May 24. In the morning sitting, deputies discussed the proposed Law and Ordinance Building Programme in 2023, and the adjustment of the 2022 programme. Thousands of residents in a poor commune in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa are calling for funding for a safer bridge. Suoi Khanh Bridge has deteriorated The remote mountainous commune of Co Lung in Ba Thuoc District home to a Thai ethnic group is located some 130 kilometres from Thanh Hoa City. Due to difficult terrain, travel has always been one of the biggest challenges for local people. Suoi Khanh Bridge lies on one of the most important routes in Co Lung Commune. The bridge that serves over 2,000 residents in four villages has now seriously deteriorated. Downpours cause human and property losses in northern Vietnam. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - Hanoi and other northern provinces were inundated following heavy rains on May 23 and 24 that have caused human and property losses. Hanoi's Hoang Mai district recorded rainfall of over 130 mm from May 23 night, followed by Hai Ba Trung district at 100 mm, and Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Dong Da and Long Bien districts at 80 mm. Traffic jams have been seen in Ngo Xuan Quang, Co Linh, Ngoc Lam and Duc Giang roads in Long Bien, and many other streets in the capital city. Downpours, landslides and flooding have caused serious human and property losses to localities. As of 5pm on May 24, the natural disasters killed three in the mountainous provinces of Tuyen Quang and Hoa Binh, and injured four others in Tuyen Quang. Up to 253 houses in Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Cao Bang and Hoa Binh provinces were damaged.
