He was speaking during a meeting with the US business community in Washington DC on May 12 (US time), as part of the Vietnamese leader’s trip to the US. The meeting was held by the US-ASEAN Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce. PM Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always considers the US as a leading, important partner. Massachusetts is one of the destinations in President Ho Chi Minh's journey to seek a way for national liberation, where he studied history and learned about the struggle for national independence, freedom and reunification of the American people. A number of mementos in the kitchen where he worked more than 100 years ago are still kept by the hotel. Old documents with many pictures and articles about the daily life of Boston people in the previous period which was hung at the hotel, with words saying that Ho Chi Minh used to work as pastry chef of Parker from 1911 to 1913. At the event, the Vietnamese PM congratulated Laos on the positive results in the country’s fight against COVID-19 and reopening, and highly valued the two countries’ sound cooperation in the bilateral framework as well as at regional and international forums. The Lao PM spoke highly of Vietnam’s important achievements in the recent time, especially in bringing the COVID-19 pandemic under control and promptly reopening its borders for socio-economic recovery and development, and thanked Vietnam for cooperation and support for Laos over the years.
