With a theme of “Gather to shine”, the closing ceremony will take place for two hours and be live broadcast in 90 minutes. The program includes three parts with themes of “My Hanoi, your love”, “Convergence” and “Shining”, respectively. The second part with the theme “Convergence” will be the main content of the closing ceremony comprising the flag-raising ceremony, parades of 11 countries, 40 sports, groups of referees and volunteers along with remarkable images during the 12-day sports tournament. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of congratulations to the national under-23 team for successfully defending their gold medal in men’s football at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. PM Chinh attended the men’s football final between Vietnam and Thailand at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on Sunday night. The Vietnamese players beat their Thai rivals 1-0 to win the gold medal in men’s football for the second time in a row at the SEA Games. Earlier, at 14:00 on May 18, Ship KN401 of the Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No.4 received information about an ill fisherman while patrolling at sea. Accordingly, the ship moved to Nam Yet (Namyit) Island of Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, Khanh Hoa province) to take the distressed fisherman. At 16:00 on May 19, the ship approached the fisherman and brought him ashore safely. Reportedly, fisherman Tran Thanh Phuong (born in 1978 from Tam Quang, Nui Thanh, Quang Nam) from trawler QNa 90089 TS had allergies with many symptoms. The event was jointly held by the special missions of three Lao provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Saysombun and the Vietnamese province of Nghe An. For coach Park Hang-seo, it was a repetition of the streak he had initiated with the U23 team after winning the previous SEA Games gold medal. The U23 team had gone 12 games unbeaten from March 2019 until January 2020, winning nine and drawing three while scoring 35 goals and conceding four. After losing 1-2 to North Korea at the 2020 U23 Asian Cup, Vietnam started another unbeaten streak from October 2021 until the SEA Games final on May 22 this year. In this streak, Vietnam won 11, drew one and scored 19 goals without conceding any. However, the two unbeaten streaks are still not a record in Southeast Asia. U23 Thailand went unbeaten for 19 games from 2003 to 2006, including 17 victories that helped them win the SEA Games gold in 2003 and 2005.
