General Department of Customs showed that 124 cars were imported from the country of thousands of islands in October 2012, worth 1.137 million dollars. The other four are familiar names. South Korea still tops the list with 788 cars exported to Vietnam in October 2012, worth 9.435 million dollars. The second biggest exporter is the neighbor Thailand which exported 293 cars, worth 5.610 million dollars. The third position belongs to China from which Vietnam imported 129 cars with the import turnover of 3.477 million dollars. The fourth is Indonesia, and the fifth is the US, which exported 3.715 million dollars worth of cars to Vietnam. Queensland promotes coal export to Vietnam By Thu Nguyet - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC – The Australian State of Queensland with big reserves of energy resources is promoting its coal export to Vietnam, said a senior official from the state. “Vietnam is growing fast and its demands for energy are increasing. Ex-Im Bank: U.S. to double exports to Vietnam By Mong Binh - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - The Ex-Im Bank of the United States has said it will make it easy for Vietnamese companies to buy goods from America as a measure to double exports to Vietnam and achieve an apt balance in bilateral trade. Italian machinery firms are keen to increase exports to the Vietnamese market, says an official from the Italian Trade Commission. Marco Saladini, Italian trade commissioner in Vietnam, said demand in the Vietnamese market has created opportunities for Italian firms and other countries. More trade missions led by Italian machinery businesses have introduced their products to Vietnam since early this year, said Saladini, adding another mission from the north-central Italian province of Emila Romagna would visit Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from June 7 to 11. Emila Romagna is the strongest machinery manufacturing province in Italy and the biggest machinery exporter to Vietnam, Saladini said. He said businesses in the province had shipped US$46.6 million worth of machinery, accounting for one third of Italian machinery exports to Vietnam last year. As many as 18 Italian food and beverage businesses participated in the “Italian flavour” expo held by the Italian Trade Mission on November 23 rd in Ho Chi Minh City. The mission said that over 140 working sessions have been held in order to seek distributors in Vietnam.
