Concern mounts over continued staff shortage at luxury hotels
According to the Vietnam Hotels Association, there are over 550 luxury hotels that accounts for about 18% of the total number of rooms in the country. Hence the shortage of trained staff in this segment is concerning, industry insiders say. Dao Manh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Education Association, said that in the first seven months of the year, the number of domestic tourists reached 71.8 million arrivals, exceeding the target of 60 million. But this has not proved very advantageous for luxury hotels. "The rise of domestic tourism post Covid-19 has had a great impact on middle-level hotels and the hiring of staff in this segment has increased rapidly. But, due to the slow return of international visitors, luxury hotels haven't been able to do the same. Well-trained staff in these hotels might have changed their careers and may not return after Covid-19," Hung said at a conference held Tuesday. The dire need for staff has seen high-end hotels lower their qualification … [Read more...] about Concern mounts over continued staff shortage at luxury hotels

Hanoi will soon finish the administration of the third and fourth doses of the Covid-19 vaccines to adults and speed up the injection of the third dose among people aged 12 and over as soon as possible. Hanoi will intensify the Covid-19 pandemic combat with its highest sense of responsibility, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung said at a meeting with relevant units this week. Dung appreciated the localities' efforts in stepping up the communication work over the past time, so the Covid-19 pandemic situation has been well controlled in the capital city. "However, the Covid19 vaccination for locals, especially the 5-12-year-old age group, has not gone as expected. Localities need to focus on ensuring safety when administering Covid-19 vaccine to children, thereby encouraging their parents to agree to their child vaccination," Dung said. Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Vu Cao Cuong presents the report at the meeting. … [Read more...] about Hanoi verifies promoting Covid-19 vaccination as key task

These departments need to make detailed plans for their qualified employees to take such refresher courses in Australia, Germany, France, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, the US and among others, the committee added.
