Vietnam makes effort to deter people from poaching wild, migratory birds Vietnam is considered one of the most important areas in the network of migratory and endemic bird routes, with 63 globally important bird regions and 7 endemic bird regions. Young Vietnamese wildlife conservationist Trang Nguyen, author of “Chang Hoang Da – Gau”, known as “Chang is Wild about Bears” in English, has won the 2022 Princess of Girona Foundation International Award (FPdGi). As part of its press release to announce the awards, the Spanish Embassy in Vietnam emphasised that Trang Nguyen showcases her leadership ability, perseverance, and humility. Her efforts have been recognized as she pursues an intersectional approach that also encourages women and young people to participate in the protection of wildlife.
