Standing Committee adjusted the environmental protection tax rate from 2,000 VND (0.086 USD) to 1,000 VND per liter for petrol (except ethanol), from 1,000 VND to 500 VND per liter for diesel, from 1,000 VND to 300 VND per liter for mazut and lubricant and 300 VND per kg for grease. The unemployment rate among persons of this age group living in urban areas was 9.21 percent, a year-on-year drop of 0.76 percentage point, he added. Both unemployment and underemployment rates declined in Q2 compared to the previous quarter and the same period last year, GSO Deputy General Director Nguyen Trung Tien said. The Q2 employment went up quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year, with a considerable rise reported in the service sector, Tien noted, adding that monthly average wage per person also increased. In a press release following a recent consultation with Vietnam, the IMF Executive Board said a recovery is underway and high frequency indicators point to stronger momentum going into 2022, with rising retail sales, industrial production, and firm entry. Vietnam boosts export of high-quality rice

According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the export price of Vietnam’s 5% broken rice is higher than that of Thailand, India and Pakistan. Specifically, each tonne of this kind of rice is sold for 418 USD, 8 USD higher than that of Thailand, and 30 USD and 75 USD higher than those of Pakistan and India, respectively. Meanwhile, the export price of Vietnam’s 25% broken rice is currently 403 USD per tonne, equal to that of Thailand, but 35 USD and 75 USD higher than those of Pakistan and India, respectively. A villa was illegally built on agricultural land of perennial trees while a restaurant was constructed on canal banks in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region, sparking an uproar as the problem has remained unsolved for long. Local officials said they noticed these illegal structures, and then reminded their subordinates to inspect these cases, but the issue was skipped over. Many residents have complained about the villa and restaurant complex built on farmland with no permits and construction certificates by Nguyen Tan T., who lives in An Phuoc Commune, Mang Thit District, located in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.
