Central Quang Ngai Province’s Department of Health on Tuesday requested those coming from coronavirus-hit areas, including Ha Nam Province’s Ly Nhan District since April 22, Hanoi’s Dong Anh District from April 23, Hung Yen Province’s Phu Cu District from April 23, No. 2 Street in Binh Hung Hoa Ward of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)’s Binh Tan District from April 27, Vinh Phuc Province’s Phuc Yen Town from April 23 and Hoi An Town in Quang Nam Province from April 19.
All aforementioned locations have recorded coronavirus patients within their vicinity.
In the nearby Binh Dinh Province, anyone who come from outside needs to medically declare themselves, while anyone returning from coronavirus-hit areas need to self-isolate at home, the provincial health department said.
Authorities in Dong Nai Province which borders HCMC have also requested that anyone coming from Dao Ly Commune of Ha Nam from April 22, Yen Bai Town from April 23, Hoang Xa, Hoang Cac and Nai Khe villages of Hung Yen from April 29, be put into centralized quarantine. Anyone entering Dong Nai from other coronavirus-hit locations would need to be self-isolated and tested for Covid-19.
Soc Trang Province in the Mekong Delta has requested anyone coming from localities that recently reported Covid-19 community transmissions: Hanoi, Da Nang, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Yen Bai and HCMC’s Binh Tan District from the four-day holiday starting April 30 to isolate and medically declare themselves to authorities.
HCMC authorities have also requested people entering the city from certain coronavirus-hit locations and hotspots, such as Sunny Club in Vinh Phuc from April 23 to April 30 and the Hoa Sen health center in the same province starting April 26, to enter centralized quarantine and be tested for Covid-19. Passengers on certain flights and those traveling by vehicles that have been associated with recent coronavirus cases would also need to pass the same procedure. Those returning from coronavirus-hit locations would need to self-isolate at home and be tested too.
Hanoi so far has not issued an announcement requiring people entering the city to be quarantined, but the capital has locked down certain locations associated with coronavirus-positive cases. It has also suspended non-essential services like theaters, massage parlors, gyms and outdoor food vendors and cafes for disease prevention.
Vietnam has confirmed 38 local Covid-19 cases since last week in seven localities – Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Da Nang, Yen Bai and HCMC after spending around a month without any community transmissions.
