Themed “50 years of victory of Xieng Khouang - Plain of Jars Defensive Campaign – Victory and Lessons,” the event was attended by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, and Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang, among others. In an interview granted to reporters of the People’s Army Newspaper before the first Vietnam – Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange, the Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister affirmed that building, maintaining, and protecting a borderline of stability, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development is one of the concerns of Vietnam and its neighboring countries. To achieve this important target, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the defense ministries of neighboring countries of China, Laos, and Cambodia have co-hosted border defense friendship exchanges. The event was held by the Criminal Investigation Department under the Ministry of National Defense.
