HCMC – Director of the HCMC Department of Health Nguyen Tan Binh has asked the city’s Center for Disease Control to promptly track down all those linked to two persons who re-tested positive for Covid-19 after their treatment and quarantine in Tay Ninh and HCMC.
The two were identified as having visited many public places such as the airport and coach station, according to the municipal department.
The two residents of Ha Tinh Province were found to have visited five provinces, Tay Ninh, HCMC, Danang, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, and come into close contact with many people.
N.T.T., who lives in Thanh Ha District, flew back to Vietnam from Dubai through the HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on April 13 and was immediately sent into quarantine in the city. Before returning to Vietnam, the woman had her samples taken for testing, with the first test result coming back positive and the second turning out negative.
She tested negative for the virus at the quarantine center in HCMC three times during her 14-day isolation, so she was discharged from the quarantine center. The woman took a taxi to the An Suong Bus Station in Hoc Mon District and stayed at a rest house near the bus station after being discharged, and on May 1, she went home to Ha Tinh Province on a Hieu Phuong passenger coach.
Another case involves N.T.H., who returned to Tay Ninh Province from Cambodia on March 25. The woman made a health declaration, tested positive for the virus, thereby receiving treatment at the Tay Ninh General Hospital.
After testing negative for the disease three times, the woman traveled to HCMC on April 25. On April 27, she flew to Danang City and stayed at a hotel on Yen Bai Street in the central beach city.
On April 28, the woman flew to Vinh Airport in Nghe An Province and was picked up by her family members in a private car. She self-quarantined at her sister’s home in Tuong Son Commune from April 29. On May 4, she tested positive for the virus.
In related news, the HCMC Center for Disease Control on May 6 released an urgent announcement asking people who visited Shinhan Bank’s branch at 113-115 Cong Hoa Street in Tan Binh District at around 4.00 p.m. on April 27 to contact healthcare centers and make health declarations.
Before testing positive for Covid-19 following a rapid test in Cambodia, a person had earlier visited the bank at that time, according to a representative of the municipal center.
The person had stayed on Tran Quy Street in HCMC’s District 11 before traveling to Cambodia, the local media reported.
