Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Thái Xuân Dũng highlighted the importance of trade and investment promotion, particularly when both countries and others are seeking solutions for post-pandemic recovery. He said the forum aimed to help participating firms discuss issues related to the EU-Việt Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) so that they could come up with more suitable business plans and strategies. “Vaccination is just half the challenge amid the current surge of the Delta variant.” An enhanced and comprehensive approach to reconfiguring critical care in hospitals and at home will be important to Viet Nam’s re-opening roadmap and plan for life with Covid-19, stated Gareth Ward, British ambassador to Vietnam in a webinar held yesterday. Vietnam is racing against time to vaccinate people in order to soon reopen the economy in affected areas. Vietnam’s Covid-19 cases have reached 707,436 as of Sept. 21, including 67% have recovered, statistics by the Ministry of Health showed. The patient, Phan Duom, aged 56, a resident in An Vinh commune, Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province, working on trawler QNg 96372 TS, was hospitalized at 15:30 on September 18. He was in the state of chest pain, shortness of breath, quadriplegia, blood pressure measured at 95/50 mmHg, breathing rate of 22 times/minute, and hearing loss. The fisherman encountered decompression sickness after 30 minutes of diving at a depth of 30m under the sea when the trawler was going fishing in the waters near Southwest Cay. Through examination and diagnosis, the medical staff initially concluded that the patient suffered from type 2 decompression sickness. They gave him oxygen breathing, and medicines to help prevent blood clots and increase cerebral blood flow.
