The BOT forecast that Thailand's economic growth this year will be 3.3%, up 0.1% from its previous projection. For 2023, it predicted growth of 4.2%, down 0.2%. The central bank also maintained its forecast that the annual inflation stays at 6.2%. Qualified banks expect higher credit growth quota in the next few months

According to the Bao Viet Securities Company (BVSC), the SBV is expected to announce a credit expansion for commercial banks at the end of Q3 2022 or at the beginning of Q4 2022 as most banks have so far used up most of their assigned credit quota. However, as the SBV has so far decided to keep the credit growth target unchanged at 14 per cent in 2022, the selection of banks to get a higher credit growth quota in the remaining months of this year will be tightened. According to the SBV’s rules, the granting of credit growth quota will be based on the asset quality and operation scale of each bank according to Circular 52/2018/TT-NHNN. Beachgoers at De Gi Beach in Binh Dinh Province, south-central Vietnam has spent the past few days in awe of two blue whales who have been hunting in nearby waters. Dinh Thanh Tien, chairman of Cat Khanh Commune, on Friday confirmed the appearance of the blue whales at De Gi in his locality in Phu Cat District, Binh Dinh Province. The two whales are about 17 and 10 meters long, according to Tommy Toan, a local tour guide who claims to have seen them several times. They are part of a larger pod of whales that have been foraging in the waters near De Gi Beach since before August, Toan said, adding that the other members of the group have moved elsewhere. Whales put on a show off lesser-known beach in central Vietnam
Vung Boi - De Gi, an unspoiled destination in Phu Cat District around 40 km from Quy Nhon Town, has become the center of attention after some of the giant creatures were spotted off the beach earlier this month. The beach is famous for its clear, blue waters. Lensman Nguyen Phan Dung Nhan of Quy Nhon said he and his friends hired a boat to reach the area where the whales are. Diving expert and local tour guide Tommy Toan said that he spotted the whales a month ago. Initially he saw eight whales but now there are only two left, a male and a female. Toan said he first encountered the whales on July 26 when he was taking tourists to Hon Trau Islet, about 8 kilometers from the shore. Farmed lobsters die en masse following storm in south-central Vietnam
Nearly 30,000 farmed lobsters have died for unknown reasons in the south-central Vietnamese province of Phu Yen after a tropical storm made its way into the country’s mainland earlier this week. Some 29,240 lobsters and 1,220 groupers and barramundi raised in 385 farming rafts in Song Cau Town, Phu Yen had died as of Wednesday, Nguyen Van Lam, head of the provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, confirmed a day later. The damage was estimated at nearly VND2.5 billion (US$106,850). With appropriate measures, local farmers managed to stop the mass mortality on Thursday, which could be attributed to Storm Mulan , according to the provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.
