Vietnamese offices elected to SIAP and CSAM
The elections were conducted within the framework of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)’s 78th session held in Bangkok from May 23 to 27. Vietnam is among the three and five countries with highest votes at CSAM and SIAP, respectively. The election of the General Statistics Office and VIAEP to the Governing Councils of SIAP and CSAM demonstrated ESCAP member countries’ high appreciation of Vietnam's contribution as well as its role and position in ESCAP. Seminar seeks measures to ensure food security and nutrition for people
The seminar was one of the activities to mark the 59th anniversary of Africa Day. Speaking at the opening ceremony, IAMES’s Head and VAECA’s President Le Phuoc Minh affirmed that as top research units on Africa of the Government, IAMES and VAECA wanted to cooperate with domestic and international organizations to annually hold Africa Day, considering it an important event to congratulate the African friends on the day as well as to strengthen mutual understanding and relationship between Vietnam and African countries. A London high court judge agreed Thursday to the airline's demand for a speeded up trial schedule but refused to order Airbus to stop trying to resell jets intended for Qatar Airways to other airlines whilst they wait for a final ruling. Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker, in a rare public comment on the case, told reporters in Doha: "Every partnership has disputes and I just hope that this dispute could be resolved outside the courts of law."
