Vietnam moves to next development phase in combating corruption: Party chief

Strict punishment serves as a deterrent to others, Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong has said. Vietnam is moving into the next phase  in the fight against corruption and bribery, which is to ensure that officials do not dare, are not able and have no desire to commit corruption. Vietnam reviews corruption fight at biggest conference ever

Held at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam's hall with online participation from eight central units, including the Party's Central Inspection Commission and ministries of Public Security and National Defense, and 63 cities and provinces, the event gathers around 81,000 delegates. The conference, the biggest ever on Vietnam's anti-corruption campaign, aimed to evaluate the actual results of fight against corruption and other negative activities, limitations and weaknesses in the past 10 years and after more than a year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress that was issued last February. Anti-corruption fight an irreversible trend: Party chief
