She held that the international community should give high priority to ensuring compliance with international laws and the U.N. Charter. She also underlined the role of multilateralism and multilateral mechanisms with the U.N. at their center. HCM City’s districts with low rates of Covid-19 vaccination would face the risk of resurgent viral infections due to the new Omicron BA.5 sub-variant, according to municipal Department of Health Director Tang Chi Thuong. The Ministry of Health have announced the appearance of the subvariant BA.5 in Vietnam and according to Thuong, the subvariant is more highly infectious and could cause more serious conditions for patients. To date, around 490,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine in HCM City have not yet been used as the rate of the fourth Covid-19 jab vaccination has remained low in many districts, Thuong commented. It wrote that with export and consumption recovery, the Vietnamese economy rebounded strongly in Q2, with gross domestic product (GDP) increasing 7.72% year on year – the fastest pace in almost 11 years. This is expected to boost the GDP growth in the first half of 2022 to 6.42% from a year earlier, beyond the Government’s 5.5% expectation.
