Vo Huynh Anh Khoa surpassed his opponents to win gold in the men's 50m butterfly - S8 with a time of 30:47 seconds. This marked the third gold medal won by the Ho Chi Minh City-born swimmer at the Games. Vietnamese swimmer Trinh Thi Bich Nhu won a gold medal in the women’s 50-meter butterfly swim event at the 2022 Southeast Asian Para Games (ASEAN Para Games), taking place in Indonesia, with a record-breaking result on Thursday morning. Nhu’s achievement was 42.60 seconds, surpassing the Games’ record of 1:00.18 held by Malaysian swimmer Koh Lee Peng. Despite suffering leg paralysis since the age of three, Nhu developed a passion for swimming, with her idol being Michael Phelps of the U.S., who is the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time.
