Two Vietnamese tricked to work in Cambodia rescued
Puih Phu, 16, and Puih Thai, 28, were taken back home in La Grai District of Gia Lai Province in the Central Highlands on Sunday. Early this year, they got in touch with Tran Quang Quyet, 21, a native of the region’s Kon Tum Province, on Facebook. Quyet offered to help them get decent jobs with high salaries in Cambodia. However, once they arrived in Cambodia, they were forced to do all the hard work while their employers frequently beat them with rods and power cables. They were also threatened to be sold away or killed. Struggling to survive, Puih Thai asked to be sent home. The people who had tricked and sold him to Cambodia requested him to contact his family and pay bail of VND90 million ($3,854). Central Bank Digital Currency necessary for Vietnam
Saigon Investment had a talk with Dr. HO QUOC TUAN, University of Bristol, U.K., to discuss this issue further and asked him as to what Vietnam needs to do to face this new trend. Thirdly, some countries like China have ambitious plans for their currency to become the world's main dominant reserve currency. If the renminbi doesn't play that role today, they hope pioneering the cryptocurrency will give them this edge. Looking at these options, Vietnam needs a CBDC to solve … [Read more...] about Central Bank Digital Currency necessary for Vietnam

In Vietnam, after the pandemic was brought under control nationwide, some have lowered their guard, especially in vaccination, while authorities have shown slackness in examination. Meanwhile, the country still has to fight against other disease outbreaks and care for people’s health amid the shortage of medicine and medical supplies, he added. Since the start of 2022, Vietnam has recorded over 9 million infections of Covid-19, more than 8.3 million of whom have recovered and over 10,000 succumbed to the coronavirus disease (equivalent to 0.1%).
