Classic literary works

The collection of Czech-Vietnamese and Vietnamese-Czech poems are edited by Sys and writer and translator Do Ngoc Viet Dung (Do.honza), also a writer, co-authored a collection of poems by Czech and Vietnamese poets. The 762-page bilingual book, which includes works of many famous poets namely To Huu, Xuan Dieu, and Jaroslav Seifert, was honored at the 7th National Foreign Press Award. It was published by the Vietnam Writers Association Publishing House. The Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Embassy held a ceremony on August 17 to present the award to the Czech writer. Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Thai Xuan Dung appreciated Sys’s contribution to popularising Vietnamese culture and literary works in the Czech Republic, helping promote the relationship between the two countries. The amended Law on Intellectual Property (IP) provides a more comprehensive legal framework for effective protection and enforcement for holders of IP rights. The miscellanea “Doc duong” by Nguyen Ngoc (Photo: thethaovanhoa.vn ) Hanoi (VNA) – A seminar on the Vietnam – France culture interference from the perspective of writer Nguyen Ngoc will be held by the French Institute in Vietnam and Nha Nam Culture and Communications Company on August 13. The proliferation of pageants in the country has become a recent topic of discussion/debate. People say that the sheer number of competitions has caused a drop in both the quality of the candidates and entertainment value. Comparisons have even been made to Thi No, a literary character famous for being the polar opposite of beauty in Nam Cao's "Chi Pheo." Over the years, I have come to believe firmly that today’s beauty contests, not just in Vietnam, are inherently flawed. While the concept of beauty pageants has existed for millennia in both the East and the West (known through the Greek myth "Judgment of Paris"), modern beauty pageants as we know them only truly began in America during the early 20th century.
