(Source: VNA) Hung Yen (VNA) – A ceremony was held in Giai Pham commune, Yen My district, the Red River Delta province of Hung Yen on April 27 to pay tribute to late General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Nguyen Van Linh on the occasion of his 20th death anniversary (April 27). Party General Secretary Nguyen Phuc Trong and former President Truong Tan Sang sent baskets of flowers to the ceremony. JMSDF leader visits Hoang Sa Exhibition House
On this occasion, he and his spouse were introduced to Atlas 1908 documents, Commercial Atlas Rand McNally maps and many historical documents affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly). He was really impressed by the exhibits featuring the portraits of Vietnamese witnesses who were civil servants and soldiers on duty in Hoang Sa islands. The exhibits also included tablets, cards, fishing boat models of the Hoang Sa militia-civilian team on Ly Son island in Quang Ngai province, and images of the Battle of Hoang Sa on January 19, 1974. Nearly 5,000 flights delayed, cancelled in two months
Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - Five domestic airlines reported nearly 5,000 delayed or cancelled flights, accounting for 17 percent of the total operated flights, in the first two months of the year. The number increased by 4.2 percent from the previous month and posted a 0.9 percent year-on-year rise. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) operated a total of 29,363 flights in the two-month period, up 22.8 percent from the same period last year. Of which, Jetstar Pacific had the highest rate of delayed or cancelled flights with 838, accounting for 25.5 percent of its scheduled routes. Vietjet took the second place with 2,677 delayed or cancelled flights, accounting for 21.5 percent of its total during the two-month period. Hanoi hosts meeting of ASEAN commission on women’s, children’s rights
Hanoi (VNA) – The 17th Meeting of the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) took place in Hanoi on October 20, gathering representatives from ten ASEAN nations and the ASEAN Secretariat. It was the ACWC’s second meeting in the year, following the 16th meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia in March. It was held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the ASEAN Secretariat as part of the third ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Women (AMMW) and related meetings in Hanoi from October 18 – 25. The meeting discussed the follow-up from the 16th meeting and reviewed the implementation of projects of the ACWC Work Plan 2016 – 2020. Thai Binh ceremony remembers late Party leader Nguyen Duc Canh

The ceremony was attended by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Quoc Vuong, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, representatives from some central agencies and localities as well as the family of the late leader, among others.
