Diseases break out after flood in Chuong My District
The flood has stirred up the lives of residents in Chuong My District which has been submerged by floodwater in ten days. Diseases are more highly likely after the flood as dead animal bodies and waste caused water pollution affecting on people’s health. There is no electricity, no fresh water. Residents in the district were exposed to greater health problems such as psychological issues and communicable diseases. Ten people had dermatitis, six others had diarrhea and 40 had pink eye. Local medical infirmaries provided examination on 1,544 patients, give 4,688 eye, diarrhea and dermatitis medicine. Moreover, households were given Chloramine B and Alum. Additionally, a 24-hour medical clinic was set up to provide drug to inhabitants in isolated parts. Hanoi sets up large-scale aquatic farming areas in eight districts

The areas are located in the districts of Ung Hoa, Phu Xuyen, Thanh Oai, My Duc, Ba Vi, Chuong My, Thanh Tri and Thuong Tin. To expand the aquaculture farming area, Hanoi has transformed lowland fields into farms for large-scale aquaculture production, mostly of common carp, grass carp and tilapia, and fruit farming. Some farms started cultivating higher-value fish like black carp, hemibagrus guttatus and bass. Many of them also offer eco-tours. However, farmers here mainly use traditional fish farming techniques and have yet to apply advanced agricultural practices like VietGAP. Craft villages in the capital city of Hanoi are sharing a concern over the shortage of highly-skilled craftsmen, which is hindering them from improving the designs and competitiveness of products. The villages together have created jobs and stable incomes for 740,000 workers. Nguyen Nhu Dien, from Son Linh footwear establishment in Phu Yen commune of Phu Xuyen district, said the Phu Yen footwear and leather craft village is facing a labour shortage, particularly those with high skills.
