The ministry said in a press release that during the meeting, Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping had agreed to cooperate in economic development along the Laos-China railway route which was inaugurated the same day. The two sides also agreed to increase collaboration at regional and international forums for both countries’ interests and in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam logged 13,670 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours to 4pm on December 3, according to the Ministry of Health . The new infections, including nine imported ones, raised the total number in the country since the start of the pandemic to 1,280,780. Ho Chi Minh City reported the highest number of infections with 1,311, followed by Can Tho with 982, and Hanoi with 791. Thua Thien – Hue province on the day registered an additional 822 cases in the national data system after verifying information from previous days. The ministry also announced 200 fatalities, bringing the COVID-19 death toll in Vietnam to 25,858. A further 1,149 patients recovered from the virus on the day, raising the total number of recoveries to 1,006,459. Da Nang calls for RoK’s investment in ICT A forum to promote investment in information and communications technology (ICT) in the central city of Da Nang from the Republic of Korea (RoK) was held virtually on November 30, bringing together representatives from over 200 enterprises and investors from the two countries. The directive asks aviation service providers to seriously implement the tests as prescribed by the Ministry of Health. When cases are detected, the units must report to the medical authorities and local administrations. Carries are also asked to boost their checks and supervision of passengers coming from or transiting through African countries or those having the Omicron variant, while airport authorities must report those cases entering Vietnam so that they will be reported to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport.
