Hanoi (VNA) - The national public service portal will launch its e-notary service on July 1, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said at a recent meeting with agencies to prepare for the roll-out of the service designed to certify electronicallly copies of original documents. The system is also expected to be implemented nationwide, he added. Speaking at the meeting, Dung hailed the move as a major leap forward in the building of e-government. After six months of launching the national public service portal, an electronic platform to connect the Government with people and enterprises, at least 41 million people have visited the website. About 159,000 accounts have been registered, nine million records sent to the portal and synchronised, and more than 102,000 records dealt with through the system. Seoul (VNA) - Indonesia has agreed to create a special entry system for business travellers from the Republic of Korea (RoK), the RoK foreign ministry said on August 13. According to the ministry’s press release, the measure will take effect on August 17, under which RoK businesspeople will be exempt from the mandatory two-week quarantine when they enter the Southeast Asian country, on condition that they submit negative virus test results. The two sides reached the agreement during a phone talk between RoK Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha and her Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi, on August 12. The RoK has won such entry restriction exception systems from China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is in talks with Japan to launch a similar entry system, in an effort to meet growing demand from businesses to resume overseas work disrupted by the entry restrictions since the pandemic. Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) will officially begin operations as a joint stock company on September 1 and change its name to the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC). The news was announced at its first shareholders’ meeting, on August 13 in Hanoi. Le Anh Son, Chairman of Vinalines’ Members’ Council, said this is an important step in the corporation’s development, adding that it helps increase resources for VIMC to improve its management system, thus enhancing service quality and increasing competitiveness to ensure sustainable development.
