Chaba, the first tropical storm to hit the East Sea this year, is predicted to gain more strength and cause torrential rain in the northern region between Saturday and Thursday. Localities in affected areas are urgently preparing for the adverse weather conditions. The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warned that heavy rain will hit the northeast region with rainfall from 40-90mm on Friday night. Rainfall is predicted to be 100-200mm in the northern region and up to 150-300mm in the northeast region on Sunday and Monday. The heavy rain will last until Thursday, the centre said. Vietnam’s labor ministry requests support for Vietnamese victims in toxic gas leak in Jordan
The Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs has recently asked relevent agencies and businesses to provide support for five Vietnamese nationals who were killed and seven others injured by chlorine gas released by a dropped tank at Jordan’s Port of Aqaba on Monday. The Vietnamese victims had been working on the Hong Kong-registered Forest 6 vessel when the chlorine tank fell from a crane onto its deck, said the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia concurrently with Jordan on Wednesday. The Department of Overseas Labor has requested companies that have provided seafarers to the ship to urgently supply necessary support to the wounded crew members and the families of the dead in the accident. Vietnam issues new template passports for citizens from July 1
The new template passports aim to prevent the creation of fake passports. The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) started issuing new template passports for Vietnamese citizens today [July 1], according to the Immigration Department of Vietnam. The move is aimed at implementing Circular 73/2021/TT-BCA of the MPS on passport specimens. Each page of the new passport will be printed with renowned Vietnamese scenery and cultural heritage, namely Ha Long Bay, Hung King Temple, Hue Imperial Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, Nha Rong Habour, Lung Cu Flag Tower, and among others. Thousands of Vietnamese flights delayed in June
The figure was up 15.9 percent year-on-year and up 9.4 percent from last month, according to a report from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. The delay fights accounted for 18.2 percent of total flights operated by the country's six carriers last month, it said. Low-cost carrier Vietjet Air has the industry's highest rate of flight delays at 24 percent, followed by Vietnam Airlines (20.1 percent). CAAV said late-arriving aircraft was the main cause of delays in addition to other excuses like poor management and bad weather.
