The adoption marks a new milestone in working towards the longer-term target to establish and adopt a common policy that provides a basis for structuring regulatory systems for pharmaceutical products across ASEAN, according to the ASEAN Secretariat. This will not only enable the reduction of trade barriers and enhance harmonisation of regulatory requirements and collaboration between regulators but also to ensure timely access to high quality, safe and efficacious pharmaceutical products. Seminar seeks to improve quality of Vietnamese rice
The event gathered representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Mekong Delta Rice Research Institute, enterprises operating in processing and rice exports, and market experts and researchers. During the event, participants discussed and analysed bottlenecks, and proposed solutions to remove difficulties facing Vietnam's rice industry in its path towards sustainable development. Vietnam is known as a powerhouse in rice exports with an annual average export output of about 6.3 million tonnes, accounting for about 15 percent of total global rice exports. Vietnamese rice has been shipped to over 150 countries and territories worldwide. Chairing a conference reviewing the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution 10 dated January 18, 2002 and Conclusion 12 dated October 24, 2011 on socio-economic development and assurance of national defense and security in the Central Highlands, he hailed positive achievements the region has gained after the implementation of the two documents.
