A woman in the northern province of Bac Giang is calling for support as she is facing cirrhosis, while her son has congenital dumbness and blindness. Vy Thi Sinh, 60, and her son are living in a shabby house with nothing valuable in Son Dong District’s Dai Son Commune. Sinh’s husband was affected by Agent Orange when he was a soldier. He died due last year to lung, liver and heart problems. In the last days before his death, he had to use a lot of pain relievers. Ministry requires rent support completion for workers in August

Besides, the People’s Committees of localities are required to direct People’s Committees of the district level to assign and arrange officers and officials to receive, appraise and approve documents and timely deliver the support to contract workers as regulated. Minister of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung stated that the localities had to complete the support by August 30. In addition, the ministry assigned the Department of Employment to arrange working teams to check the late disbursement of the financial support in localities; and the localities have been required to send reports on the spending progress every three days. Quang Nam Province is making efforts to send some 5,000 people to work abroad between 2022-2025. Workers queue to complete procedures to go abroad in Quang Nam Province Speaking at a recent meeting with the local Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, vice chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, Tran Anh Tuan, said that they planned to send 5,000 workers abroad, particularly to Japan and South Korea, from 2022-2025. More than 2,200 people in the province worked abroad between 2019 and 2021, of which over 95 percent went to Japan, with the remaining five percent working in South Korea, Taiwan, Germany and some other countries.
