Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh focused on Vietnam’s economic development policy based on independence, self-reliance, and international integration in his speech at Harvard Kennedy School in the U.S. on Saturday. PM Chinh visited the school and attended a policy powwow as part of his trip to the U.S. and participation in the U.S. - ASEAN Special Summit from May 11 to 17, at the invitation of U.S. President Joe Biden. In his remarks, the Vietnamese government chief emphasized the building of an independent, self-reliant but deeply integrated economy in Vietnam. Russia to assist Vietnam in building e-government
Russia has agreed to assist Vietnam in building an e-government as well as help the Southeast Asian country ensure information safety, a Russian deputy minister for digital development said in Hanoi on Monday. Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Mikhail Mamonov is leading a delegation on a working visit to Vietnam from February 18 to 20. The guests, including Russian experts and firm representatives, had a working session with Vietnamese Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung in Hanoi on Monday. Pandora announces plans to build $100 million facility in Vietnam
The 60 million pieces of jewellery will be built to LEED gold standards and the facility will be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy, creating jobs for more than 6,000 craftspeople. According to Jeerasage Puranasamriddhi, chief supply officer at Pandora Production Co., Ltd., Pandora will invest $100 million to build this new factory, which will be the company’s third manufacturing site and its first outside Thailand. “The development in Vietnam is very important for Pandora’s investment strategy,” Puranasamriddhi told VIR . In the speech, PM Chinh stressed the importance of independence laid out in the U.S.’s Declaration of Independence “All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness,” and the spirit of which had been echoed in Vietnam’s Declaration of Independence penned by the late President Ho Chi Minh. The Vietnamese founding father since the very beginning of the modern Vietnam had expressed the desire to set up equal, comprehensive relations with the U.S. in his letter sent to U.S. President Harry Truman in 1946.
