Hanoi (VNA) - The national finance sector has recorded important developments and made decisive contributions to the country’s achievements, according to member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung. Addressing a discussion within the framework of the 13th National Party Congress on January 27, Dung said the financial sector has implemented the policy of e-government development towards a digital government and digital economy, and promoted IT application and development. Businesses now basically conduct all tax declarations, tax payments, tax refunds, and customs procedures via digital platforms. The Pathet Lao Newspaper of the Lao News Agency (KPL), said that, in his opening speech, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong highlighted Vietnam’s achievements last year, with economic growth of 2.91 percent - one of the highest worldwide. The article said Vietnam has outlined major orientations for the country’s key issues for the next decade, adding that the 13th tenure will mark a new development step in the cause of renewal. Hanoi (VNA) – No new COVID-19 cases were reported in the past 24 hours to 6pm on January 27, keeping the total unchanged at 1,551, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,430, while the death toll remained at 35. Among patients undergoing treatment at medical establishments across the country, 14 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 10 others twice and 12 thrice. At present, 21,86 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine across the country.
