Young Vietnamese wildlife conservationist Trang Nguyen, author of “Chang Hoang Da – Gau”, known as “Chang is Wild about Bears” in English, has won the 2022 Princess of Girona Foundation International Award (FPdGi). As part of its press release to announce the awards, the Spanish Embassy in Vietnam emphasised that Trang Nguyen showcases her leadership ability, perseverance, and humility. SEA Games: Vietnam advance to semi-finals as Group A winners
Vietnam comfortably beat Timor Leste 2-0 at Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho Province on the evening of May 15 to progress into the semi-finals of the 31st SEA Games men’s football event as the Group A winners. Nguyen Van Tung and Ho Thanh Minh were on target after the break as Park Hang-seo’s troops concluded their group-stage campagin at the top with 10 points, one clear of Indonesia. Indonesia’s 3-1 victory over Myanmar earlier on Sunday not only sent coach Shin Tae-yong’s side through to the last four, but also helped Vietnam book a semi-final place regardless of the result of their match against bottom-placed Timor Leste. Vietnamese-French Fields Medalist receives Maurice Audin prize for math

A Vietnamese-French academic was presented with the Maurice Audin mathematics prize in Paris on Wednesday for his great contribution to the field, after a two-year wait. According to the French website Images des mathématiques (or Images of Math), Prof. Ngo Bao Chau, 46, a Vietnamese-French mathematician at the University of Chicago, was announced the winner of the 2016 edition of the Maurice Audin prize. Images des mathématiques is published by the French National Center for Scientific Research (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique – CNRS) and devoted to popularization in mathematics, with an aim to show the diversity of the science in an attractive way – words and pictures.
