Accordingly, the prevention of coastal and riverbank erosion should be carried out synchronously for both immediate treatment and long-term radical solutions associated with ecological environment protection, coastal mangrove forest protection and development, and creating livelihoods for local people. At the conference (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The second “Vietnam Conference on Earth and Environmental Sciences” ( VCEES-2022 ) officially opened on August 8 at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education ( ICISE ) in Quy Nhon city in the south-central coastal province of Binh Dinh. The Ministry of Science and Technology, ‘Rencontres du Vietnam’ Scientific Association, Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF) and Hanoi University of Science & Technology have supported the organisation of the four-day event. Ho Chi Minh City transport department proposes banning long-haul buses from inner city
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has proposed that long-haul buses be banned from the inner city in a bid to alleviate traffic jams and eliminate makeshift bus stops. The transport department suggested a road map to ban long-haul buses with over 30 seats from entering the inner city. In the first phase from 2022 to 2025, sleeper buses will be prohibited from traveling into the inner city area inside the corridor from National Highway No. 1 (Thu Duc City, District 12, Binh Tan District, Binh Chanh District) - Nguyen Van Linh Street (Binh Chanh District, District 7) - Vo Chi Cong Street (Thu Duc City) - Dong Van Cong Street (Thu Duc City) - Mai Chi Tho Street (Thu Duc City) - Hanoi Highway (Thu Duc City). Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project restarts in third quarter
According to the Ministry of Transport, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway construction project is invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC). The project has a total length of 57.8 kilometers, passing through Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai provinces. The project's total investment is VND31.32 trillion, using loans from the Asian Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and domestic reciprocal funds. According to the original plan, the project would be carried out from 2014 to 2019. However, during the implementation process, some mechanism and policy changes caused the project not to be allocated capital and have to halt construction from 2019. NutiFood becomes major shareholder in Vinasoy’s owner
The transaction worth about VND87 billion ($3.78 million) was done on August 2 by NutiFood Binh Duong Nutrition Food JSC. After the transaction, NutiFood increased its ownership ratio in Quang Ngai Sugar to 19 million shares, equaling a 5.33 per cent stake. NutiFood is the fourth-largest shareholder in Quang Ngai Sugar, following Thanh Phat Trading Co., Ltd, general director Vo Thanh Dang, and investment fund VinaCapital. This ownership ratio is still quite low, however, since the end of last year, there have been many speculations on the stock market that NutiFood is trying to increase its influence in Quang Ngai Sugar . At the conference In November 2020, leaders of the People’s Committees of seven localities signed an agreement on tourism development cooperation. The program will focus on state management of the tourism industry, the development of tourism human resources and tourist products, and tourism promotion. According to a report, seven cities and provinces received a total number of visitors of 17.7 million and earned VND63, 000 billion (US$2.7 billion) in tourism revenue in 2021. In the first six months of this year, the business outcome of tourism activities saw positive signs thanks to tourism reopening policies. The total number of tourists was estimated at around 32.9 million, including one million international visitors while the revenue from tourism was VND87, 900 (US$3.76 billion).
