At a beach in Phu Quoc (Photo: VNA) Kien Giang (VNA) – The number of visitor s to the resort island of Phu Quoc, the southern province of Kien Giang, surge d strongly in June, with around 140 flights and over 40 ferries and boats carrying tens of thousands of tourists to and from the island each day. Phu Quoc has more than 700 accommodation facilities with over 24,000 rooms, but with the large number of travellers, many are filled to capacity. Phu Quoc authorities said the island received an estimated 1.4 million visitors in the first six months of this year, including 46,200 foreigners. Revenues from tourism shot up 46 percent year on year to top 2.84 trillion VND (122 million USD). The island is home to 284 investment projects in tourism development, covering 9,619 hectares of land, with total investment capital of nearly 352.2 trillion VND. Sun Fest Street Carnival kicks off vibrant summer in Da Nang
According to the city’s Department of Tourism , the event aims to revive tourism activities after a period of crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some 160 domestic and international dancers in colorful costumes join the parade moving along the city streets in a festive atmosphere. The carnival takes place from 7.30pm to 9.30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays until July 24, except for July 9, with ten parade cars decorated with replicas of Da Nang’s famous tourist attractions, departing from Tran Thi Ly Bridge to APEC park on the west end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge and arriving at a square on Bach Dang Street. Organizers hope the street carnival is expected to bring tourists and local residents jubilant and brilliant summer months. Vietnamese second most interested in Asia-Pacific in travelling post-pandemic

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese travellers are the second most interested in Asia-Pacific (APAC) in travelling in post-pandemic period, with some 85 percent of respondents from the country planning a trip in the next 12 months, a survey by Booking.com found. Vietnam is closely behind India that is leading the way in the inaugural APAC Traveller Confidence Index survey by the US-based online travel agency that polled 11,000 travellers across 11 countries and territories in the region from April to May. China came in third. The survey provides an insight into regional travellers’ comfort level to explore the world and whether they are excited about domestic travel after the pandemic.
