According to data of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, last year, two-way trade between Vietnam and Australia hit US$12.4 billion for the first time, up more than 49 percent compared with that of 2020. The value of shipments to Australia reached more than US$4.45 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23 percent. Vietnam wants to increase dragon fruit export to Australia, New Zealand
Dragon fruit is one of Vietnam's key export products to the two high-end markets. According to Nguyen Thi Thu Huong from the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia, Vietnam has exported fresh dragon fruits to Australia since 2017 with the export value growing every year. Vietnam's dragon fruit export turnover to Australia surged by 36 percent in 2020 and 14 percent in 2021. Besides Overseas Vietnamese’s distribution systems, the fruit has been sold at major retail supermarkets in Australia, Huong added. Dragon fruit is one of three types of fruit licensed to be imported into New Zealand. Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Nguyen Van Trung said dragon fruit is Vietnam's most successful export fruit to New Zealand with consecutive growths from 2014 to now. When the sport was introduced at the 2003 SEA Games, Vietnam as the host swept 13 out of the 16 golds at stake, while in Laos 2009 and Indonesia 2011 took four and six golds, respectively. SEA Games 31: Vietnam secure another gold in women’s kumite team

SEA Games 31: Host Vietnam pocket new gold medals in individual blitz chess

Minh topped the event by surpassing another veteran Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem after two intense matches. This is Minh's first gold medal since he started the chess career. As a result, Liem secured the silver medal; and the bronze medals went to Tin Jingyao of Singapore and Megaranto Susanto of Indonesia.
