A child in mountainous area (Photo: Vietnamnet.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, head of the Central Steering Committee for 2016-2020 National Target Programmes, recently approved the use of 6.3 billion VND (272,000 USD) to support disadvantaged ethnic children and households. The amount was mobilised through the national humanitarian portal 1400 in 2018. Some 5 billion VND (216,000 USD) will be spent on buying clothes for ethnic children residing in specially difficult communes ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2019. The remainder will be used to provide the poor ethnic families with audio-visual devices. Deputy PM Hue ordered the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) to join hands with the Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to carry out the programme. Phu Yen province: Over 100 houses handed over to storm-hit families
The project is part of the Government of the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) aid package to assist families affected by the typhoon in the three Central provinces of Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, and Quang Nam. At the hand-over ceremony of one of the houses in Phu Yen province The three provinces’ Red Cross Society and Women’s Union chapters had carefully selected household recipients from poor families, particularly families headed by women and elderly people. Addressing the event, Country Director, UNDP Vietnam Akiko Fujii stressed that a house is the biggest asset of a family, so it is very important to build a safe house and the UNDP and the RoK Government have been supporting communities affected by the typhoon. More support for families of dead, missing people in central flood
VND5 million (US$ 215.2) and VND3 million ($129) were given to families of dead and missing people and families of seriously injured people in central provinces of Quang Tri, Thua thien – Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai , Binh Dinh and Da Nang . According to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, ten dead and missing people were reported, hundreds of houses’ roofs were blown off and submerged, and hundred hectares of paddy fields were damaged. Before, the standing board of VFFCC had phoned to encourage families of victims of natural disaster in above-mentioned provinces. The standing board highly praised local party committees, administrations and unions for visiting and assisting victims and families of dead and missing people in the flood. The first five members of the alliance are Homecares, iKure, INNOTEK, Job Links and AT Group. Of these, the startup company Homecares will serve as a medical service provider in the city. Viet Nam News Gia Lộc HCM CITY— Every morning, Dr Bùi Thị Thanh Huyền and her colleagues in the palliative care unit at HCM City Children’s Hospital make their rounds in the neonatal intensive care department to assess the need for palliative care, and then proceed with other rounds if they receive a request from other departments. The team, consisting of a doctor, nurse, psychologist and social worker, aims to relieve pain and other symptoms of patients who have serious, complex or life-threatening conditions, and to provide psychological and social support to their families.
