The US Mission to Vietnam is seeking candidates for the Fall 2022 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship on civic engagement, environmental issues, social entrepreneurship and economic development. According to the organiser, Vietnamese citizens between the ages of 18 and 25, full-time undergraduate students or those who have graduated from college, university, or other institutions of higher learning, who demonstrate strong leadership qualities and potential in their university or place of work, have an interest in community service and volunteerism, and have a good command of English, are invited to apply for the program. Intel Capital invests in Vietnam for first time
Intel Capital, the investment arm of the world’s largest chipmaker, has announced it is pouring US$17 million into companies in Vietnam and Singapore, marking its first-ever investment in this country. The money will be split in undisclosed amounts between Vietnam Communications Corporation and Singapore’s Reebonz.com, Intel said during the World Economic Forum in Bangkok on May 31. Vietnam’s fisheries sector to apply high-tech to ensure traceability
Themed “The National road-map and guidelines for e-logbook and electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) in Vietnam,” the workshop aims to share the results and lessons learned from eCDT pilot programs and make consultation on the road-map to applying e-logbook amd eCDT to the management of fishing activities and the implementation of the Fisheries Law 2017, heading for sustainable and responsible fisheries development in Vietnam. At the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Capture Fisheries under the Directorate of Fisheries Pham Ngoc Tuan presented an overview of the development of the software and guidance on the implementation of e-logbook and eCDT, including training support and pilot programs in localities.
