The Hanoi chairman sent a telegram on April 27 requesting the heads of departments, agencies, districts and towns to strengthen measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee said that although the pandemic situation in the city has been well under control, the risk of another outbreak is always present, especially from illegal entries.
A more worrisome problem is the occurrence of negligence, subjectivity, as well as improper and incomplete implementation of preventive measures against the pandemic.
The municipal People’s Committee also directed strict punishment on individuals who ignore to make medical declarations or make dishonest medical reports.
In addition, Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh asked for the restriction of gatherings of large numbers of people and the strict implementation of 5K principles to prevent the pandemic.
*Meanwhile, the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has decided to cancel the fireworks display that was set for April 30 to limit crowds in the fear of COVID-19 outbreak.
Other cultural and entertainment activities with specific plans will take place as scheduled but must follow pandemic prevention rules.
*The central province of Quang Tri has also decided to cancel a fireworks display and reduce the scale of activities during the art performances on the evening of April 30.
