CPV: Minister of Finance Nguyen Sinh Hung led a delegation to attend the 12th APEC Finance Ministers Meeting held in Jeju, Korea from September 8-9, 2005. The 12th Finance Ministers Meeting will be attended by finance ministers of 21 APEC member economies and general director of the International monetary fund, Presidents of World Bank and Asia Development Bank, Executive Manager of APEC Secretariat and representatives from private business sector. At the meeting, finance ministers will hear reports on macroeconomic situation and discuss on the themes of "Free and stable movement of capital", "Meet the challenge of ageing economies" and will release the joint statement. The Republic of Korea will pass the chairmanship of the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting to Vietnam during this year's event, to be held on September 8-9, a Vietnamese official said Wednesday. A Vietnamese delegation led by Finance Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung would attend the 12th Finance Ministers' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, or APEC, forum in Jeju, Korea, Deputy Trade Minister Le Thi Bang Tam told a press conference. PANO - The 13th APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting (FMM 13), to be held from September 4-8, is an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen its position, especially in the financial sector in the international arena. Deputy Finance Minister Tran Xuan Ha stressed this during a press briefing in Hanoi on August 30.
