Not only being locally consumed, these products are also exported to China, where TH has become the first Vietnamese enterprise to be allowed by China’s authorised agencies to export fresh milk products into this gigantic market with a population of 1.4 billion people. Under a protocol signed in April between Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and China’s General Administration of Customs on veterinary and health requirements for dairy products to be exported, TH Group has met all strict requirements and conditions set by China. Vietnam’s Nghi Son refinery produces 4.6 mln tonnes in first year
Vietnam’s Nghi Son oil refinery (NSRP) has produced 4.6 million tonnes of petroleum fuel in its first year of commercial operation, reducing the country’s reliance on foreign petroleum imports, the company said on Thursday. The $9 billion refinery, which begun commercial production in December 2018, met a third of Vietnam’s demand for petroleum fuel products, the company said in a statement. The statement said NSRP, Vietnam’s second refinery, had contributed over 11.66 trillion dong ($502.69 million) to the state budget as of November this year. The 200,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery, located 260 km (160 miles) south of Hanoi, is 35.1% owned by Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan Co, 35.1% by Kuwait Petroleum, 25.1% by PetroVietnam and 4.7% by Mitsui Chemicals Inc. … [Read more...] about Vietnam’s Nghi Son refinery produces 4.6 mln tonnes in first year
Consumers begin to feel pork pinch
With the price of pork soaring, consumers begin to look for alternatives such as poultry, beef, and seafood (Photo: Le Toan) Since early November, the price of pork has been increasing rapidly. In some provinces, the price of live pigs has hit a record of VND80,000 ($3.45) per kilogramme, an almost 170 per cent increase in just six months. The record tally has already pushed the price of pork in wet markets across the country up to VND170,000 ($7.40) per kilogramme. The price of other foodstuff made from pork, such as Vietnamese sausages, has also hiked up to VND40,000 ($1.70) per kilogramme. In some shops and restaurants in Hanoi, the rise has led to increases of up to VND10,000 ($0.40) per dish. Last week, Duong Thu Ha, a bank officer in the centre of the capital, was surprised at the increased fee of the noodles with pork that she usually has for lunch. “They used to charge me VND35,000 ($1.50), but now a dish can be either VND10,000 more expensive or if it has the same … [Read more...] about Consumers begin to feel pork pinch

The organisers said in a meeting on Monday that matches will be held in the stadiums Rizal Memorial in Manila, Umak Football in Makati, and Binan Lagun in Laguna. Except for the Philippines and Cambodia, all other teams are currently practicing and competing on grass. They will have four months to switch to an artificial surface as the football kicks off on November 25 and ends on December 10. In Vietnam, several football clubs have grass and artificial surfaces at their facilities, but as matches are on grass “artificial surfaces are used only in raining weather” according to midfielder Trieu Viet Hung of … [Read more...] about Artificial turf to be used in SEA Games
