Vietnam’s scholars are ready for study success in Australia The 55 awardees, drawn by central and provincial governments, NGOs, academic institutions, and the private sector, will undertake studies in a range of areas that support Vietnam’s long-term development. These include natural resource management, entrepreneurship, gender equality, disability inclusion, and vocational education management. This year, the scholarships included ten students under the Mekong-Australia Partnership – a regional initiative by Australia to support Mekong countries with common challenges. These scholars will have access to additional enrichment activities that will equip them with the skills needed to contribute to Vietnam’s emerging regional challenges. Education World Forum 2022 will make a valuable contribution to Vietnam's broader education partnerships and development as a leading economy of the future. He made the remark at an international seminar titled “Vietnam aviation in a post-pandemic world” organised by Tap chi Cong San (Communist Review) and the Ministry of Transport. There were 42 million international visitors out of 116 million air passengers in Vietnam in 2019, before the pandemic broke out. About half of them came to Vietnam to invest and seek business opportunities. The volume of goods shipped by air reached 1.5 million tonnes in 2019, which was rather low compared to other modes of transport but accounted for 25 percent of the value of exported goods. They include the jersey with all signatures of the Vietnamese national football team that championed the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, the jersey of player Duy Manh – Ambassador of the “Schools for children” programme, a silk painting by artist Bui Tien Tuan, an oil painting by Pham An Hai, another by Pham Duy Quynh, a watch branded Ernest Borel GS8380C-22, and a Vespa motorbike decorated by painter Le Kinh Tai. Vietnam reaps tourism gains from SEA Games
Hanoi welcomed 700,000 domestic arrivals and 31,500 foreign visitors during nearly two weeks of Southeast Asia's largest sports event that took place in the capital and several northern localities between May 6-22, according to Hanoi's tourism department. These figures are equivalent to half of the total number of visitors to Hanoi in March and a third of April's total arrivals, it said. Eighteen luxury hotels served over 5,600 delegates, referees, athletes and reporters, including locals and foreigners. Dang Huong Giang, director of Hanoi's tourism department, said the SEA Games helped Hanoi to promote its tourism image and leave a good impression on foreign athletes, reporters and international tourists.
