Indonesia's Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto (Source: http://en.industry.co.id) Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia recently announced its Government will continue boosting growth of the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) industry in view of the potential development to be integrated with several domestic airports. Accordingly, Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport in Bintan of Riau Islands, and Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka of West Java, among others, will be integrated with the MRO industry. Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto said that Bintan is currently developing a 4,000-ha airport and aerospace industry park which will be the most complete in Indonesia, with several supporting facilities, such as airports, aircraft repair facilities, flight training, as well as business and residential areas. In 2013, the Prime Minister gave the go-ahead to the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee’s plan to set up an aircraft maintenance center in the locality. The Prime Minister then assigned the Ministry of Transport to work with local authorities and other relevant ministries on the scale of the center and the way of implementing the project. Vietnam and the Ukraine have a great chance to boost bilateral industrial cooperation, officials of the two countries announced September 10 in Hanoi at the seventh meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission. At the meeting, Ukrainian Industrial Policy Minister Oleksandr L. Neustroyev said that in the near future Vietnam and the Ukraine will possibly expand collaboration in shipbuilding, aircraft manufacturing, energy, machinery, metallurgy, chemical production and mining. A scholarship awards ceremony was held on the morning of December 4th in Danang by the Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Software Engineering Group of Vietnam (SEG Vietnam). At the ceremony, 30 scholarships were given to students enrolled in the Software Engineering and Information Systems Programs of SEG Vietnam. The Boeing scholarships, worth US $1,000 each, were awarded to economically disadvantaged students who had outstanding academic records, and who had demonstrated outstanding technical and leadership skills. The scholarships will help to pay for the students' living costs and tuition fees.
