MARD Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong said though the agricultural sector of Vietnam has obtained major achievements, it cannot rest on its laurels due to three challenges, which are the small production scale, climate change impacts and economic integration into the world. He admitted that the country has good agricultural production capacity but the production remains ineffective due to the small scale. Besides, deep processing has just developed for only some commodities like shrimp, tra fish and milk to create products with higher added value. Phu Yen targets $400 million budgetary revenue in 2020
Phu Yen envisages to count $200 million in total export value in 2020 The province determined that 2020 will be a decisive year in fulfilling its five-year socio-economic development plan for 2016-2020 and creating motivation for 2021-2025. Next year will also mark major political events, such as the 17th provincial Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress, as well as celebration activities of Phu Yen's 45th year since liberation. Leveraging comprehensive assessments of the advantages and disadvantages the province would face in the forthcoming year, Phu Yen People's Committee has set up key targets: 8.35 per cent growth in the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP), in which agriculture, forestry, and fisheries will see 3.5 per cent growth; industry and construction 13.2 per cent, and services 7.5 per cent. Minister: CPTPP vital to sustainable development in Vietnam
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - The Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) Agreement would be a vital deal in utilising free trade and ensuring sustainable development in Vietnam, said Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh. Therefore, economic sectors should prepare and take the initiative in economic restructuring in order to maximise the pact, which is scheduled to be inked in Chile on March 8 (local time) by ministers from its 11 member countries, Anh told the Vietnam News Agency (VNA). The minister said such sectors as garment-textiles, footwear, food processing, beverage, confectionery, tobacco, wine and beer will benefit most from the deal.
